El Camino State X-Country Champ Bix Is State November AOTM

Carson Bix, who became the first CCCAA men's cross country state individual champion from El Camino College in eight years, was selected CCCSIA State Men's Athlete of the Month for November.

Coincidentally, Bix is also the first state AOTM from the Torrance campus since El Camino's last cross country state champ David Cardona won the award for October of 2010.

An All-American as a freshman, Bix capped off his sophomore year by winning the individual title at the 2018 state meet in Fresno. Bix finished the 4-Mile course at Woodward Park with a time of 20:07.6, a full 13 seconds ahead of the runner-up from Mt. San Antonio College, Salvador Capetillo. For Bix, it was a bit of revenge, after he finished behind Capetillo at both the 2018 South Coast Conference and Southern California Championship meets.
