Another Daktronics Cup Title for the SCC's Mt. San Antonio College

For the third straight year and eighth overall, South Coast Conference member Mt. San Antonio College was awarded the 2019-2020 Daktronics Cup State Association trophy for overall sports success among California, Oregon and Washington community colleges. Formerly known as the National Alliance of Two-Year Collegiate Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup, Mt. SAC has dominated this division, winning nearly half of all titles, since its inception during the 2003-2004 season.

Even with a Covid-19 shortened season that prevented Spring sports teams from competing for conference or state titles, the Mounties scored 114 points with their fall sports, beating out Sierra College with 103.5 points and Fresno City with 86.5 points. Scoring points for Mt. SAC were men's soccer (19), men's cross country (18), women's cross country (18), men's wrestling (15), football (14.5), women's golf (11.5), men's water polo (9.5) and women's soccer (8.5).

Along with the eight Daktronics Cup titles and nine CCCAA/NATYCAA Cup Championships (not awarded in '19-20), the Mt. SAC placed in the top 2 in 15 out of the 17 seasons. For the past 11 years, Mt. SAC has either captured the championship or was runner-up.

The Mounties also claim six of the top 10 scores in Daktronics Cup history and is the only California institution to have back to back titles.
