Mt. SAC Stops Pasadena's 15-Meet Streak, Wins SCC Dual Men's Swim/Dive Title

It came down to the final meet of the season, but Mt. San Antonio College dominated a matchup of two 6-0 teams and ended Pasadena City's 15-meet win streak in a 230-48 victory on March 29. Mt. SAC secured the South Coast Conference men's swimming and diving dual meet title.

The Mounties (7-0) won all 15 events in the finale and in the process extended their own streak of meets to 11 straight dating back to last year. PCC settled for second place at 6-1 while El Camino placed third in the dual standings at 5-2.

Mt. SAC has the fastest times in the conference in 13 of the 14 swim events that are performed in dual meets. Jason Harary owns the SCC's best times in the 200-yard freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley. Ethan Trieu is tops in the SCC in the 50 and 100-yard freestyles as well as the 100 backstroke. Jonathan Olvera is No. 1 in the 1,000 freestyle and 200 butterfly and Ryan Lin is fastest in the 200 breastroke. The 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays also are part of Mt. SAC's conference best marks.

El Camino's Aziz Jaouhar is the only non-Mt. SAC swimmer to have the best time in an event with his 4:51.83 in the 500 freestyle. 

The 2019 SCC Championships will be hosted by Mt. SAC on April 18-20.
