El Camino Wins First SCC Women's Tennis Title In 6 Years

With one more conference match to be played, El Camino College clinched the mini 3-team, South Coast Conference women's tennis dual team title with a 5-0 record.

It's the Warriors first SCC title since 2013, breaking Cerritos three straight championships run. El Camino collected its 12th title in the sport (first in 1990).

Riko Tanagawa (perfect 5-0 in conference matches) and Lina Ito are ECC's top singles players. Ito and Madi Giese make up the Warriors' top doubles team.

Cerritos has a strong individual doubles team in Moa Lindstrom and Alba Gonzalez (7-2 this season). Rio Hondo has had a brightspot in No. 4 singles player Heaven Diaz.

Mt. San Antonio College could not field a team this year thus dropping the SCC colleges playing the sport this season to just three teams.
