Second-Place Mt. SAC Sweeps SCC Women's Volleyball Awards

Complete 2021 All-SCC Women's Volleyball Team

Second-place Mt. San Antonio College collected all three big awards in voting performed by the coaches on the 2021 All-South Coast Conference women's volleyball team.

Samantha Neely, in her first full season as head coach, was named SCC Coach of the Year by her peers after directing the Mounties to a 14-4 conference record and a current #13 spot in the CCCWVCA State Top 25 Rankings. Pasadena City College head coach Mike Terrill, who directed the first-ever 18-0 conference champion team in California Community College history and is state #3-ranked, SoCal Region's current #1-rated team, and Cerritos head coach Kari Hemmerling (third-place tie in conference) also were nominated.

Mt. SAC frosh setter Ally Euston was named SCC Most Valuable Player after leading the conference in assists with an 8.49 average per set to go with a 1.8 digs average and 30 aces. Euston is the first setter to win the MVP award since PCC's Emily Leung won in 2017 as part of the SCC North Division and the first Mt. SAC MVP since Haley English in 2016. Mounties freshman Riannel Arevalo was selected SCC Libero of the Year while leading the conference in digs at 5.03 per set.

Outside hitter Nalani Young, the only returning All-SCC selection as a First Teamer in 2019, led PCC's conference-high seven overall selections as she again made the First Team with averages of 2.5 kills, 3.4 digs and serving 40 aces. Mt. SAC had six selections in all and Long Beach City College picked up four on the 26-player conference squad.

SCC kills leader Riley DeGroot (Mt. SAC), blocks leader Abeni Williams-Lowery (LBCC), points leader Brea Rutledge (El Camino), kill percentage leader Aiyana Sierra (Cerritos), and aces leader Aiyana Henderson (LA Harbor) all made the First Team. SCC Tournament MVP Camila Sanchez-Tellez (Pasadena) also was chosen to the First Team.
