On Wednesday, the Long Beach City College women's water polo team continued its dominance in the pool among South Coast Conference opponents with the program's 66th consecutive SCC victory, 18-5 over East Los Angeles.

The winning streak goes back to the 2015 season for the Vikings, who are 5-4 overall and ranked #7 in the CCCWPCA State Top 10.

The Vikings recovered from a 3-game losing streak, all against Orange Empire Conference teams in #2 Riverside CC, #4 Saddleback and #5 Orange Coast to win four in a row. Their only other loss was against #3 West Valley.

LBCC is in search of its eighth straight South Coast championship and is led by attacker Olivia Slavens with 29 goals in nine games.

Mt. San Antonio (4-3) will try to keep up with the Vikings and holds a 2-0 SCC record with wins over East Los Angeles, 10-8, and over Chaffey. Utility player Gianna Gomez leads Mt. SAC in goals with 21.

Chaffey (4-4) is 1-1 in conference, edging Cerritos, 10-9, while losing to the Mounties, 22-6. Elizabeth Ramirez paces the Panthers with 29 goals.

Cerritos (3-4) is also 1-1 after a 19-6 win over Pasadena City. The Falcons boast the SCC's leading scorer in attacker Jewels Longoria-Moraskey, who has 40 goals in just seven games.

East LA (3-7) is still looking for its first conference win at 0-2 and has a leader in Jimena Vargas with 23 goals.

El Camino (1-6) scored a 12-8 win over Pasadena City in its SCC opener. The Warriors have All-SCC First Team returner Jackie Calhoun, who has 18 goals in seven games.
