On January 8th, Alexander posted a career-high 40 points, including making 19-for-20 from the free throw line at LA Trade-Tech. The following game he earned his first career triple-double by putting up 21 points, a career-high 16 rebounds, and season-high 10 assists against Pasadena City. In the month, he collected three double-doubles, including one in an upset win against Cerritos on January 29th. He also posted four 30-plus point performances and five games of five or more steals.

Alexander, who was an All-SCC South Division First Team selection, becomes the 67th student-athlete (men and women) from a South Coast Conference member college to receive the award since it started 15 years ago. He is the first SCC athlete to be recognized this calendar year and first men's AOTM since El Camino cross country runner Carson Bix won in November, 2018. The last Compton selection was Jayvon Brown, also from men's basketball, in February, 2017.
