The Southern California Regional Women's Basketball Playoffs is down to its final eight teams, three from the South Coast Conference North Division. SCC North Champion Los Angeles Trade Tech, second place East Los Angeles and tied-for-fourth place Pasadena City all advanced to Saturday's Round 3 regional finals round.

The postseason began as a SCC display of strength as seven teams from the two divisions earned playoff seeds: Trade Tech #2, ELAC #3, Mt. San Antonio #4, Pasadena #6, SCC South Co-Champion El Camino #8, Rio Hondo #13, and the other SCC South champ Cerritos at #16.

On Saturday, host Trade Tech will need to beat defending state champ and #7 seed Mt. San Jacinto to advance to the CCCAA State Championship Tournament. In another Round 3 game, ELAC hosts Pasadena as these two rivals play each other in a regional final for the third time in the last four seasons. Winners of the regionals advance to the state final eight (top 4 North teams, top 4 South teams) at Ventura College on Mar. 15-17.

Among the players still in action are PCC center Dariel Johnson, named CCCSIA State Women's Athlete of the Month for January and later SCC North Freshman of the Year. LA Trade Tech is paced by SCC North MVP and conference scoring champion Cheyenne Givens. Meanwhile, East LA is led by 2-time, All-SCC First Teamer and conference 3-point basket leader Jaelynn Curry.
