Due, Ung Again Class Of South Coast Conference Women's Swimmers In 2020

El Camino College's Ida Due, ranked in the state top 5 in seven different events, and Pasadena City's Carmen Ung, rated in the state fastest 5 in six events, are once again highlighting the top performances for South Coast Conference women's swimmers in the 2020 season. The two were named Co-SCC Swimmers of the Year as freshmen in 2019. 

Maybe the best distance swimmer in the state this year, Due was #1 in the 1,650-yard freestyle (19:15.36) and tops the state in the 500 freestyle (5:24.93). The Warrior also was #2 in the 400 individual medley (4:49.81), #3 in the 200 IM (2:15.63), #3 in the 200 freestyle (2:00.75), #4 in the 200 backstroke (2:16.21), and #5 in the 100 IM (1:05.41). Ung is #1 in the state in the 100 IM (1:02.06), #2 in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.26) and 50 breaststroke (30.72), #3 in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.67), #4 in the 200 butterfly (2:18.82), and #5 in the 50 freestyle (25.58). 

Mt. San Antonio College is leading the SCC dual meet standings at 4-0 ahead of Long Beach City (2-0). Valerie Chen has been the Mounties most efficient swimmer thus far as she is #4 in the state in the 50 butterfly (27.89), and #5 in both the 100 butterfly (1:01.82) and 200 breaststroke (2:37.92). Mt. SAC's Alexis Aguirre was #4 in the state in the 1,000 freestyle at 12:32.09.

 Pasadena City College's Carmen Ung is another top SCC swimmer as a sophomore in 2020.
