Perfect 8-0 Trips To SCC Women's Soccer Titles For Cerritos, Chaffey
Cerritos and Chaffey Colleges each went undefeated with 8-0 records to win their respective divisions in South Coast Conference women's soccer. Cerritos continues its incredible run of SCC championships, now at 13 years in a row. Amazingly, the Falcons had never won a title in women's soccer prior to the start of the streak in 2006.
The Falcons, the state's No. 2 team in power points and regional No. 1, went a perfect 20-0 in the regular season and have a streak of 34 consecutive regular season victories dating back to 2017. Cerritos has a current 30-match win streak in SCC play going back to 2015. Finally, Cerritos has a 51-match undefeated streak in conference play (50-0-1) going back to a 2014 loss v. East Los Angeles. The 2018 perfect run is a program first. The team has not allowed a goal in any of the last 17 games, outscoring opponents 124-1 this season.
Chaffey is fourth in the region power points standings and No. 9 in the state. The Panthers (15-2-2) won their first SCC women's soccer crown in their third season in the conference. They are in the midst of a 7-game win streak overall.
Cerritos forward Sydney Carr is the state scoring leader with 108 points, including topping all state goal scorers with 44. Chaffey is led by Angel Rodriguez with 11 goals.
