SCC Track and Field Championship Results

As dominating as Mt. San Antonio was during the 2023 South Coast Conference Track and Field Championships April 25 and 29, the Mounties reached another milestone that shows why they really do own the men's side by winning their 30th conference title. In the last 27 conference finals, Mt. SAC has won 23 while their history of crowns began in the first year of SCC track and field in 1970.

Mt. SAC didn't reach the conference points record it set last year, but it's 422 points and 14 event wins were mighty in comparison to the other teams participating in the meet held at Cerritos College.  Cerritos was second with 142 followed by third-place El Camino with 103.

Jake Jensen was a double champion in the two shorter sprints while Jalen Griego won the two longer distance events. The team's dominance including scoring the top 7 (eight score in each event) in the pole vault, the top 6 in the 5,000 meters, six of the top seven in both the 10,000 and 3,000 steeplechase, the top four in the 100 and 1,500, and three of the top four in the hammer toss and discus throw.

The 4x400 relay squad recorded the state's fastest time this year at 3:15.27.
