FINAL SCC WOMEN'S SOCCER STANDINGS

Pasadena City College won its first title of any kind in South Coast Conference women's soccer history, capturing the SCC Tournament championship, 1-0, over Mt. San Antonio on Thursday at El Camino College.

Fittingly, it was SCC-leading scorer Charlie Gallardo using a give-and-go play with teammate Delilah Vazquez to knock in her 17th goal for the game-winner with a minute left before halftime. Goalie Francesca Agliolo saved a penalty kick attempt by Mt. SAC's Noely Rodriguez in the 12th minute and made seven saves overall to post PCC's 14th shutout of the season.

The state #2-ranked Lancers (18-1-1 overall) set a school record for most victories in a season and advanced to the tourney final thanks to a 1-0 win over Long Beach in the semifinals on Nov. 12.

State #8 Mt. SAC (14-5-3) saw an 11-game win streak and 13-game undefeated string stopped by PCC. The Mounties advanced to the tourney final as Brianna Bernal potted two goals in th team's 5-0 blanking over El Camino 5-0 in the semis.

THIRD PLACE FINAL: El Camino 1, Long Beach 1, ECC 3rd place on penalty kicks, 4-3: The Warriors (9-7-5) tied it in regulation on a goal by Julia Camacho in the 78th minute, then pulled out the penalty kick shootout with a goal by Catherine Curwood-Wagner in the team's final fifth attempt. LBCC (11-4-5) led the shootout, 3-2, but Kayle Garcia tied it for ECC before the Vikings rang two posts on their last two attempts. Long Beach was paced by Lorena Moreno, who scored the only regulation goal in the 20th minute, and also netted one in the PK.

Note--The SCC Tournament is not a winner-take-all format for the conference division titles that are decided by the 9-game SCC regular schedule.

Mt. San Antonio collected its third consecutive SCC North Division title with an undefeated 9-0 run against all conference squads. It was the 10th in the program's SCC history. The state #8-Mounties most important victory was handing Pasadena its only conference loss, 3-0, in the South Coast opener on Oct. 8.

Long Beach earned its third straight SCC South Division title and 10th in the conference's history with a 6-2-1 record. It's 1-0 win over Cerritos in the SCC opener on Oct. 8 proved to be the difference as the Falcons (6-3) finished just one standings point behind the Vikings.

LBCC, ranked #19 in the state, started out conference play with a 7-game undefeated streak.
